This is the personal website of merlinnz (aka James Kalmakoff). I am a retired academic (molecular virologist) from the University of Otago in Dunedin, NZ -- once the South Pacific outpost of what was the British Empire. I am a director of a web design and publishing company -- Kalmak Consultancy.

Blog -- This is an eclectic collection of postings of the 'third age' genre -- topics at present are about - what is consciousness? evolution of life and our movement  towards an empathic civilization (a result of our social networks?).

Tao Te Ching - This is a complication from several translations at a period in my life when such things were deeply important to me and which now 30 years later fit into an empathic view of the cosmos.

Bookstore -- the beginnings of my foray into eBook publishing.
